Searching Customers

Use the Customer Search Results screen to search customers in your customer database. You can do a simple search or an advanced search.

To display the Customer Search Results screen:

  1. On the PAYD Administration main screen, click Profiles.

  2. On the Profiles menu, under the Customers section, click Search.  
    The Customer Search Results screen appears.

 

Simple Search

Do a simple search to find customers quickly directly in the Customer Search Results screen.

To search customer records:

  1. In the search textbox at the top of the screen (above the Registration Date column) enter any of the following:

  1. At the top of the Customers menu, click the Search button .

A list of matching customers appears.

NOTE: You can search to include ALL or ANY of the terms in results. For more help, see Step 2 in Advanced Search below.

 

Advanced Search

Do an advanced search to run more complex queries on your customer data. An advanced search is especially useful when exporting customer data.

To do an advanced search:

  1. At the top of the Customer Search Results screen, click the Advanced Search button.

The Advanced search popup appears.

  1. To narrow search results by Customer Name, ID, email or phone, enter the appropriate terms in the Search Criteria textbox using the following guidelines:

EXAMPLE: To get results that contain customers with both the names "John" and "Doe," enter John Doe.

EXAMPLE: To get results that contain customers with either the name "Bloggs" or "Doe," enter Bloggs OR Doe.

  1. To narrow search results by customer Status, select/deselect the Active and Inactive checkboxes as appropriate.

  2. To include/exclude customers entitled to Tax Exemptions, select/deselect the Yes and No checkboxes as appropriate.

  3. To include/exclude customers that are on your mailing list, select/deselect the Yes and No checkboxes under Part Of Mailing List as appropriate.

  4. To include customers who registered online or within the store, under Source, check Web (for online customers) and/or check Store (for in store registered customers). To exclude each customer type, uncheck the boxes for Web and/or Store respectively.
    NOTE:  This field may or may not be visible based on your Merchant Agreement with Moneris.

  5. To include/exclude customers that are part of a pricing group, click the Pricing Groups drop-down menu and select a group from the list.

  6. To narrow search results to clients living in a geographic area (e.g. clients who are out of province or out of country etc.), click the Country and Province/State drop-down menus and select first a country, then a province or state to search.

  7. To narrow search results to clients celebrating a birthday on a particular day, click the Birth date Day and Month drop-down menus and select a day and month from the lists.

  8. To narrow search results based on when a customer was registered in your database, select the Registration Date Range checkbox and enter a Month, Day and Year in the Starting Date and Ending Date textboxes.

  9. To narrow search results based on when a customer record was last modified, select the Last Modification Date Range checkbox and enter a Month, Day and Year in the Starting Date and Ending Date textboxes.

TIP: Click the Choose buttons to use the popup calendar.

  1. At the bottom of the popup, click the Search button.

The popup closes and matching results appear in the Customer Search Results screen.
