Use the Categories screen to manage product categories in the PAYD Pro PlusTM In-Store Solution. Together with brand name, attribute, pricing group, promotion and fee management, category management is part of PAYD Pro Plus inventory management functionality, which is accessed from the Products menu in the PAYD Administration main screen.
Categories enable you to better manage your inventory by hierarchically organizing products into categories similar to how store departments are set up. This allows you to view and track your products in ways that meet your specific needs, such as tracking sales by category (see Total Sales by Category Report). NOTE: How you structure your categories and the coding you use to identify them are very important factors if you want to take full advantage of the PAYD Pro Plus inventory import function. For help on importing inventory and the connection with category management, see Importing Inventory.
On the PAYD Administration main screen, click Inventory.
On the Inventory menu, under the Product heading, click Categories.
The Categories screen displays a clickable view of your product category hierarchy tree.
From the Categories screen, you can do the following:
NOTE: Depending on your user permissions, some functionality may be disabled or greyed out.
Click on the triangular symbols to the left of the category name to expand or collapse the tree as needed.
In the Categories screen, click the category you wish to move.
Hold down the left mouse button and drag the category to a new desired location within the hierarchy, then let go of the button.
A confirmation popup appears asking you to confirm the move.
Click Ok to confirm the position change.
OR
Click Cancel to reject the change and return to the Categories screen.
NOTE: You can move any category up or down. If the category contains sub-categories, they will move with their parent. To move a category back to the top level, drag and drop it back to the root "Products" category at the top of the Categories screen.
Click inside the Search textbox in the top right corner of the screen and type in the category name you wish to locate, then click the Search icon ().
Click the category in the hierarchy tree and then click the Modify button to the right of the tree.
To add a new category at the top of the hierarchy, click Products at the top of the hierarchy tree and then click the Add button to the right of the tree.
To add a new category to an existing category (i.e., as a sub-category), click the category in the hierarchy tree and then click the Add button.

Click the Available Online drop-down menu and choose Yes
OR
Click the Yes option to Set Available Online.

NOTE: These options are only available to merchants using the PAYD Pro Plus eCommerce module. If you do not have eCommerce, these options will not be visible to you.
Click the category in the hierarchy tree and then click the Modify button to the right of the tree.
