Using the Virtual Numeric Keypad

The virtual numeric keypad is an on-screen utility that works "virtually" as a numeric keypad you use with your mouse or a touch screen in the absence of a physical keyboard. It is used for two purposes:

NOTE: If a scanned/entered  item has a price defined in its product profile, the virtual numeric keypad will not appear.

The keypad popup appears for two reasons.

  1. It appears in the POS view when  $0.00 priced item is scanned or entered in a transaction. The popup appears on the right side of the screen, over the Transaction buttons panel. Use your touchscreen or mouse to click the buttons on the keypad.
     

The Virtual Numeric Keypad appears when a $0 item is added to a transaction.

  1. It appears when Cash has been selected as a payment method. The Purchase popup appears and you can use your mouse or touchscreen to click the buttons on the keypad to process the cash checkout.

The Virtual Numeric Keypad appears when Cash is selected as a payment method.

To close the keypad:
