Tipping on Integrated Payments

NOTE: This feature is only available to merchants using integrated credit/debit payments with PAYD Pro PlusTM In-Store and an iPP320 PIN Pad. If you do not have an iPP320 PIN Pad, or your PAYD Pro Plus In-Store solution is not integrated with the Moneris® payment processing solution, this feature will not be visible.

When tipping is enabled in the Configuration - Settings screen, it is possible for customers to leave a gratuity when using the integrated PIN Pad to process their payment.

In general, this is how tipping works during a Purchase transaction:

  1. Clerk adds items to the bill.

  2. Clerk finalizes the transaction.

  3. Clerk selects Debit, Credit or Split as the payment method.

  4. Customer swipes or inserts their card.

If enabled, the PINpad may prompt for Cashback if a debit card is swiped/inserted. See Cashback on Debit Transactions for more information

If enabled, the PINpad may prompt for Surcharge if a debit card is swiped/inserted. See Surcharge on Debit Transactions for more information.

The terminal prompts for the tip amount.

  1. Have the customer enter the tip amount and press the green  key.

  2. Have the customer confirm the total amount by pressing the green key.

  3. Complete the transaction as prompted.

The cash drawer opens, the sales receipt prints and the popup closes. The POS view is reset to its default settings.

NOTE: Your system may behave differently depending on how receipt options were configured.

NOTE: If Cashback is enabled, consult the sales receipt to determine if the customer elected to receive cash on their debit purchase. If they chose to receive cash, consult the CASHBACK line on the receipt to determine the quantity of cash to give to the customer.

  1. If you selected the Gift receipt checkbox, the Select Gift Receipt's Items popup appears. Select the items to appear on the gift receipt and click Print. For detailed help, see Printing Gift Receipts.
